I was a registered democrat until Reagan’s second term. I believe in the reality of change. And, I’ll admit, I’m still very pro-middle class worker. That’s probably why Sessions’ attacks on immigration have resonated with me. It has always been the social conservative themes that have kept me close to the republican party. While I think the free market is the best way to run an economy, I also think we barely have a free market any more.

I also transitioned from pro-choice to full blown pro-life (exception life of mother) over the years. As recently as GWBush, I’ll bet I can be found on Free Republic arguing for rape and incest being acceptable exceptions for abortion AND saying that for those exceptions to be viable, then abortion must be legal at least to that degree.

Seriously, CEW, I’ve changed over the years.

Well I can’t relate....I was never a Democrat, never a liberal, never even close.

Then you are no Democrat or liberal...it's been decades since they were about the middle class worker. But please please don't fall for liberal populism as a way to protect the middle class worker. All those attempts are fools errands.
