the question is does this translate to 1/10 the costs. If so this could easily be transferrred to the oil drilling business to bring down their costs significantly and in a timely way if this technology came onstream in five years.

Nonsense.
They don't just need a hole. They need a borehole with the material removed, not the material jammed into the sides so tightly than nothing will flow out. That defeats the whole purpose in having a well.
