Oh, I don't know . . . because abortionists and the people who defend them are scumbags, and most people know it?
Logically, its not important how doctors talk at supposedly private meetings. If they were heart surgeons I doubt it would be an issue. But these are abortion providers, and that makes all the difference. . . . But the videos do cleverly evoke visceral feelings of disgust—graphic images, physicians using the words crush and crunchy—to activate the stereotype that abortion providers are money-grubbing baby killers.
Does Pollitt also wonder why graphic pictures of heart surgery might gross people out, but they probably won't provoke them to moral outrage? Talk about a complete lack of self-awareness.
“Does Pollitt also wonder why graphic pictures of heart surgery might gross people out, but they probably won’t provoke them to moral outrage? Talk about a complete lack of self-awareness.”
Exactly right. Graphic pictures of heart surgery - or really any kind of surgery - will gross most people out. However, after the gross out dissipates, most people will be grateful that there are surgeons and surgical nurses willing and able to do such things and that attitude will make itself known to the medical professionals. When you are talking about abortion, after the gross out comes simple disgust, nay, revulsion and horror. That is the difference that Katha (the conscienceless) does not get. Her conscience is so badly scarred and calloused that she feels nothing for the innocents slaughtered.
Or put it another way. If you run into your surgeon or surgical nurse on the street or in the hallway of the hospital, he or she will likely say “thank you,” or at least have that feeling. If you run into the abortionist or the abortion assistant (I refuse to say doctor or nurse) under similar circumstances you will likely pretend you never saw them, and they you. Why might that be?
