The Earth has been on a warming trend since the end of the last ice-age. Until the next ice-age, that will continue. One day, those 2-mile thick glaciers will again cover much of North America. We won’t be able to do anything about that either.

Not even close. We have been cooling since we’ve been able to accurately measure the temperature.
