Poll: Trump Crushes Bush and Walker Combined, Favorability Rockets to 52%

A Monmouth University poll, also released Monday and with a somewhat larger sample size and smaller margin of error, shows Trump in first place, beating both Scott Walker and Jeb Bush combined.

The poll puts Trump in first place with 26% support. Second place Jeb Bush and third place Scott Walker sit at 12% and 11%, respectively.

That is what you call a blow out.

The remainder of the “top ten” includes Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) - (6%), Mike Huckabee - (6%), Ben Carson - (5%), Chris Christie - (4%), Sen. Rand Paul - (4%)

I've no idea how long Trump's run is going to last and I'm far from picking my horse in this race but I'll say this:

First, Trump's an awful lot of fun to watch. His making the GOP-E squirm in their seats and recoil in horror at his challenging them is exactly what the Republican Party needs!!! I love it.

Second: Just y'all be careful about the emotional investment you're all making in Trump's campaign. In many ways, Donald Trump is 2016's Ross Perot (minus Perot's own idiosyncrasies' but inserting Trump's own.) None of us knows how long Trump is going to last in this race and November 2016 is still a lifetime away, politically speaking.

Speaking as someone who put his heart and soul into the Perot campagin in 1992, the crash so many of us felt back then when Perot "went off the reservation" was a real b*tch. Just guard your emotional investment and remember that anything can (and will...) happen between now and November 2016.

He may not be the most conservative, but he’s definitely not part of the GOPe. The real question is if he is elected, can he get senate and house leadership on board? I think he can. I think he’ll destroy them in the press if they don’t get on board.

No argument from me. But I think that even though Trump is a GOP outsider, like Romney or McCain, our country's headlong barreling toward the cliff will not be assuaged. Trump will shuffle-ball-change to the left as the candidate in the general election, and conservatives trying to save this country will be left wringing their hands in the cold, still outside.

Yeah... I just don’t know. I think there is a chance he becomes third party after getting elected as a republican. And that’s not all bad. Our country needs a “third party” so we can have two parties. Right now we just have one.

I understand. I too, just want to win, even if our candidate isn’t perfect. But if we win without being conservative, then ultimately we still lose.
