I have a question:

So Trump has said that if the Republican don't treat him fair, he'll go third party...

Everyone is getting their pantie in a wad over this, so why does this matter?

If Trump is leading this far in the polls, and people are favoring him, is it because the (R) represents something to these people that will make them feel guilty for not voting (R) and going 3rd party? Wouldn't it make more sense if Trump goes 3rd party and people who like him vote for him anyways???? Then maybe the (R) party would realize that there is something wrong with the RNC, which most of us know there is, or is it people are afraid that another party would be more popular in the future than the (R) party?

lol. Trump preemptively putting them in their place. Smart. I am loving him torturing all the right people though I am still Cruz first. He said this a couple of weeks ago and RNC made peace with him last week.

Because there are many who will vote straight Republican ticket - no matter what. Just like there are many Democrats who will vote straight ticket - no matter what.

Basically the GOP has their 40% and the Dems have their 40%. The battle is always for the 20% in the middle.

This is why most 3rd party efforts are doomed. 20% of the vote is not going to get it done (which is almost exactly the Perot vote in 1992).

It's too early to say that Trump will have the kind of mass appeal to peel away at those 40% bases. It's possible, considering the political climate out there.

However, I like Trump's chances better as the GOP nominee. He'll get the 40% and most of the 20% in the middle. Maybe even some Democrats. That was the Reagan path to victory in 1980 and 1984.

Trump—Love him or hate him—has changed the GOP forever. It will be a better party because of it. I do not think he will get the nod and be the nominee (but it could happen) but change is in the air. The people are turning right and wish to leave race cards, progressive Ideals, PC, behind them. Maybe a new 3rd Party is right—Liberty Party. Maybe it will be a second party and the RINOs will have the GOP as a 3rd Party? many things will happen in next two years—anything can happen.
