In April 2009 I was walking along the west side of the WH complex.
Suddenly security shut down all traffic, pedestrian and vehicle.
After about 10 minutes, Joe Biden comes out in an armored Suburban (with two escort cars) waving to the crowd.
A guy in a thousand dollar suit turns to me and says “If Joe didn’t have a chauffeur, he couldn’t find his way home for lunch”.
