Post Your Favorite Saturday Night Youtube Songs
Youtube ^ | Steve Earle

Posted on 08/01/2015 8:47:25 PM PDT by Sawdring

Sometimes I enjoy playing a couple of my favorite songs on Youtube and end up seeing where the sidebar takes me. I started with The Highwayman and now I'm listening to Steve Earl's Copper Head Road.

Next up is John Prine and Steve Goodman's Souvenirs

If you care to post your favorites, other Freepers might just enjoy the jukebox tonight.

I like the video. If we could only be so innocent anymore. I bet the next year he was doing acid and wearing bell bottoms.

No! Love everything by Ricky. Fools Rush In, Hello Mary Lou and the rest. He died using crack on a plane, losing his Christian foundation. I literally cried when he passed away.

I always thought Johnny Cash's version of Hurt was eerie also.

I enjoy Goodman’s music. I never knew he wrote City of New Orleans until I researched a song he wrote for David Allan Coe.

Petula Clark Kiss Me Goodbye - the Crinale819 version.

I'm giving the Carpenters a break for awhile but I like almost anything by them. There are 2 medleys and one single I especially like. One she's in a studio and wearing a dark turquoise jacket and pants. The other two are in London where she is wearing white. The studio one there is an improved sound version.

Carpenters Hits Medley 76 (New Audio)
Carpenters Hits Medley - the CalangofCorona version
The Carpenters - I Need To Be In Love - John1948 TwoC2 version

I never got to attend a live concert so the one at Budoken (near Tokyo) is fun to watch.

The second two above were hard to find again. The year was 1976, one of her best. She was at her most beautiful. I would say it was their peak year but they overdid it and Richard got addicted to Quaaludes and Karen dieted herself into anorexia. Richard recovered; sadly, Karen did not.

“Great voice but she never saw her potential.”

Agreed. Your choice is excellent but I still think Shelter truly shows her talent. Most of her stuff later is just MTV dancing faggot level pablum. What a waste

A smooth song for a windy summer night like tonight where I’m at. Songs like that one remind me of the brick fireplace at my parent’s home. Mid 60’s!

On December 26, 1985, Nelson and the band left for a three-stop tour of the Southern United States. Following shows in Orlando, Florida, and Guntersville, Alabama, Nelson and band members took off from Guntersville for a New Year’s Eve extravaganza in Dallas, Texas.[105] The plane crash-landed northeast of Dallas in De Kalb, Texas, less than two miles from a landing strip, at approximately 5:14 pm. CST on December 31, 1985, hitting trees as it came to earth. Seven of the nine occupants were killed: Nelson and his companion, Helen Blair; bass guitarist Patrick Woodward, drummer Rick Intveld, keyboardist Andy Chapin, guitarist Bobby Neal, and road manager/soundman Donald Clark Russell. Pilots Ken Ferguson and Brad Rank escaped via cockpit windows, though Ferguson was severely burned.

Since nobody has mentioned any Pink Floyd songs, listen to The Fletcher Memorial Home. This was off of the Final Cut album and they got very political.

Correct. Her world view obviously got in the way of the truth and her career. She could "have been so much more," to put it in her own words. Still, that song is very well done, apart from the earrings..
