Mitch] McConnell (R-KY)—who’s equally bad— surrendered the power of the purse right out of the box… they just delivered Obama everything he wanted. So these men have helped Obama oversee the biggest explosion of government both in spending and in power ever.
But they are doing more to dispirit Republicans and conservatives than Barack Obama, because people go to the polls, they give them the House, then they give them the Senate, and they get nothing. They also seem to think that bipartisanship is the reason they’re in Washington. No, the reason they’re in Washington is to advance the cause of liberty and prosperity and constitutionalism. Why would you want to participate in a bipartisan government when the President of United States is openly usurping the rule of law and openly attack the private sector and individual sovereignty?… Why wouldn’t you do everything you can to throw a wrench in his agenda?

Even then the Republicans were so anxious to get better seats at the pig trough that they couldn't be bothered to stick with their own plans for more than a year before they were kissing up to Clinton and spreading the pork around.
Well, keep electing politicians and you get politicians I guess and after watching the South vote democrat for so long because, "our democrat isn't like those Yankee democrats" in spite of "our democrat" going along with every liberal gimmick to come down the pike I don't really expect much out of the electorate.
After all, if it hadn't been for the Yellow Dog democrats in the South the democrat death grip on the budget and consequently social programs would have ended several decades earlier.
Soooo, many a Conservative hates Trump although he's the only non-politician running and the only one likely to appoint non-pols if elected. For such solid Conservative folks they hope he dies the bloody death in the primaries or pulls out.pulls out. Worst of all are the folks who cheer-lead the charge for Trump to run third party which would hand the democrats the Whore House White House again on a silver platter.
Typical, IMHO, because Conservatives won't, figuratively speaking, get in the trenches with shotguns and sharpened entrenching tools to take over the Republican party the same way the leftist fascist scum took over the democrat party in the sixties. Scum that they are, the fascist scum who took over the democrat party worked their butts off to do so and so far no group of Conservatives have been anywhere near dedicated enough to do the same. Former Trotskyites turned "Conservative" had no problem rooting in and getting power but real Conservatives ? Seems like they either don't actually exist or don't really care enough to do the work it takes.
And so it goes, Republic "progresses" to Democracy which fails proving why the founders chose a Republic.
Unlike fifty years ago, the majority of the population is now solidly dedicated to secular humanist relativism meaning that whatever would follow our democracy will be nearly as bad if not just as bad as Fascism and Communism have been everywhere else they've been tried.
Oh, and don't bother splitting hairs over Communism or Fascism, Fascism always has sold itself as a form of socialism in order to get the useful idiots to support it taking over. Afterwords, not so much socialism goes along with the "benevolent" dictatorship that follows. Especially little socialism is available for the useful socialist idiots who helped push the new fascist nobility into power.
