Having retired in '98 with 24 years service and again last year as a DOD civilian with the AF, I can attest that since I originally enlisted in '74, it has deteriorated to this - the proper method for dealing with an active shooter is to cower in a corner until they notice you - then throw a stapler at them and "do everything possible to save yourself" - IOW, fighting back is the last option no matter how many might be getting killed around you and don't you dare break any of their anti-gun rules.
