You do realize the headline you posted is misleading. It’s click bait that doesn’t even correspond with the actual interview mentioned in the article.

Sen. Cruz Presents Measure to Strengthen, Improve Legal Immigration - Offers amendment to increase H-1B visas to help improve, retain high-skilled labor force

May 14, 2013

press@cruz.senate.gov / (202) 228-7561

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today presented an amendment to the Gang of Eight immigration bill that would improve our nation’s legal immigration system by increasing high-skilled temporary worker visas, called H-1B visas, by 500 percent. The measure would effectively address the needs of our nation’s high-skilled workforce by helping meet the growing demand for workers in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. It will also make block grants available to states to promote STEM education efforts and increase domestic STEM professionals. The committee voted against the amendment 4 to 14 with every Democrat voting against it on a party-line vote.

“I strongly support legal immigration. Legal immigration is a fundamental pillar of our nation's heritage, and I was pleased today to offer legislation that would have improved and expanded legal immigration by dramatically increasing the cap for high-tech temporary worker visas. This amendment would not only improve the current system, but would also encourage economic growth and create new jobs in America. There is currently a serious shortage of workers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, yet every year we send thousands of high-tech graduate students back to their home countries to start businesses and create jobs. This makes no sense. I’m disappointed in the committee’s vote to reject expanding high-tech immigration. Although the Gang of Eight's bill makes a modest step towards improving high-tech immigration, it does not go nearly far enough. There is no reason to arbitrarily cap high-tech visas at 110,000 when these jobs are going unfilled. We need economic growth here and now.”

Sen. Cruz’s amendment would:

Immediately increase the H-1B cap by 500 percent from 65,000 to 325,000 [foreign workers].

He’s being competitive in business. I don’t like the system, but I don’t fault Trump for using it.

Just a stupid wannabe drive by story from the media.

[. . .The desired workers include waitresses, cooks, vineyard workers, as well as positions as assistant golf-course superintendent, assistant hotel manager and banquet manager.]

Commercial kitchen, grape farming, hotel and golf course maintenance labor is dominated by semiskilled and unskilled Latinos. It makes sense to recruit Latino nationals for mid level management because they are fluent in the native language and culture of the laborers.

Companies owned by Donald Trump have reportedly tried to import at least 1,100 foreign workers since 2000.

Obama's policies bring in that many each day and they are not even workers but welfare drones.

Newsmax, 8/1/2015, “Trump: I would give non-criminal illegal aliens legal status”

There’s even a FR thread ....

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3319436/posts

It’s based on a Trump interview with CNN’s Dana Bash. Again, here’s the link to the interview, so you can see what Trump has actually said, not what the misleading headline says.....

You’re the one who posted the Newsmax HEADLINE, in your first post of this thread.

Every low level contractor, landscaper, etc is forced to hire them to stay competitive, even if they know it’s wrong for our whole country. If the illegals weren’t here they could hire Americans. This minimum wage crap also hurts.

Nine companies majority-owned by Trump have sought to bring in foreign waitresses, cooks, vineyard workers and other laborers on temporary work-visa programs administered by the Labor Department.

More detail in this article.

Donald Trump's companies have sought visas to import at least 1,100 workers

Brought in legally under temporary work-visa programs. This is another problem Trump has addressed by adovating welfare to work programs if he's president. For these types of jobs, our wonderful government has created a situation where many US citizens are better off on means tested poverty programs than working in lower paying jobs.

This needs to be addressed and Trump is the only one I've heard mention it recently, maybe since Newt Gingrich pushed welfare reform in the '90s.

Trump owns companies that have sought to import at least 1,100 foreign workers on temporary visas since 2000, according to U.S. Department of Labor data reviewed by Reuters. Most of the applications were approved, the data show.

1,100 temporary workers in fifteen years isn't much for the many hotels and golf courses Trump operates. Sounds like he hires citizens and legal residents whenever possible and used a legal program for a few extra workers over fifteen years.

Most of them were attractive WHITE models and waitresses and maids from Eastern Europe! It's easy to understand why the liberals are mad.
