I don't have a problem with immigration, as long as it's Christians fleeing oppressive regimes and they're highly skilled. These immigrants will love and appreciate America and be an asset.

70 years ago, Europe drove 18 million Jews out (3000 years of art, culture, science, finance, medicine, etc.), and replaced them with 20 million Muslims- who are, at best, street sweepers and day-laborers (and we all know what the worst is).

“Question: were there no American citizens who could fill those jobs as cooks, hotel superintendent, assistant hotel manager, etc, if indeed foreign workers were sought out for those positions?”

Probably so. The ones that could pass a drug test and show up on time are usually in higher-level positions. The low-end Americans simply collect welfare, rather than working. So - nope, next to impossible to find qualified help.

Simple solution: pay more to attract American citizens to these jobs, if indeed foreign workers were sought out.

Secondly, no American citizens could be found to fill the positions of assistant hotel manager and banquet manager if indeed foreign workers were sought out for these positions?

Honestly. Please.

Yup! Obonzo has taught the work force in America that “disability” is the way to go.

Total agree. If we allow immigration at least we need to bring in the best and brightest and not criminals and welfare recipients.

Agree....he’s made them feel as if, somehow, they’ve earned those entitlements.

Now, get back to work and pay your taxes....so you and I can foot the bill ;-)

Puhleeze. I seriously doubt that low-end American workers would be sought out to fill the positions of assistant hotel manager and banquet manager (if foreign workers were indeed sought out to fill these positions), and I seriously doubt that welfare could compete with the $ these positions would give to the ones filling those positions.

They are seasonal workers, with legal visas. In Florida, during vacation season, the need for service workers doubles or triples. This is a bs hitpiece from the Hill.

Read the truth here;

So the principle of the matter doesn’t matter?

if it was 773 workers a year, you would probably say the same thing.

Ted Cruz is trying to get 325,000 more H-1B foreign workers in.

That's a problem for the IT people for sure. It may reduce offshoring but I don't know the total impact.

Legal entry.

And damn fine looking, too.

If the country were being flooded with people who looked like her, I’m not sure you’d have as much resistance.

So assistant hotel manager and banquet manager is a seasonal position and no American citizens could be found to fill those positions if indeed foreign workers were sought out to fill those positions?

And enough with the this or that paper or mag or whatever is out to get someone!!!!

Hot Air, Washington Examiner and other conservative outlets have taken the Donald on recently. Are they doing hit pieces, too? Are they liberals or part of the liberal media? LOL.

“were there no American citizens who could fill those jobs “

Not anywhere near enough, as most Americans don’t want seasonal work. Again, Temporary legal visas.

Actually, I agree with your main point, which is that people are bringing in foreign workers, whether legal or not, when millions of Americans are standing on street corners unable to find work.

There is a lot of hypocrisy to go around on this subject.

Trump is railing, rightfully, about illegal immigration and about bringing Americans jobs home. But he has over the course of his career brought (legally) many foreign workers in to work his projects.

Most American tech companies look for an “in” giving them access to foreign tech workers. Is it because there aren’t any Americans available? We see big tech companies laying off Americans at the same time they are asking for more H1B visas for foreign workers.

I’m a Cruz guy, but on this he is dead wrong; he is asking to dramatically increase the number of H1B visas to something over half a million a year. Every year.

Politicians who dare to confront illegal immigration, those few timidly brave souls, usually will try to take the sting out of it by calling for more *legal* immigration, to inoculate themselves against being called “anti-immigrant”. The problem with that is the fact that we have millions of people unemployed; why ever would we increase the number of immigrants when Americans are standing on street corners?

Immigration policy should always serve the interest of citizens. First, foremost, always. I don’t know why that is so hard to understand.

Then why go through all the trouble of importing people? They’re not saving a dime by importing people for $50k jobs. Let me know when you figure it out.

As a business man he did what is right for business. As a president he will do what is right for that.

I’m voting for Cruz in the primaries. But I love Trump’s narrative and his tearing Dhimmicrats and GOPe-holes a new one.

Exactly. This is all about legal visas for attractive white Eastern European women. We need more of them here instead of the hoard of illegal La Raza uglies.

If you don’t like Trump’s message of cracking down on illegal immigration, then your only strategy is to attack the messanger. It’s the only way the left can convince people not to support a candidate who has promised to finally secure our border. Attacking the message is a non-starter for the left and they know it. Their greatest hope is to confuse us into believing that we should be outraged at a candidate who unabashedly wants to secure the border, because his company hired legal immigrants, rather than being outraged at all the other candidates who don’t even want to secure the border. We’re not falling for it this time.
