I'm with you there, but it's not about getting votes, it's about logistics. to deport 11-20 million would take manpower we haven't seen since Nazi Germany. It would take neighborhood to neighborhood sweeps. And don't think 11 million will go quietly....

Well, again, I think we are underestimating how many people are going to self-deport simply because we begin to enforce the law. See the example of Arizona, with illegals in large numbers immediately departing and going to other states or leaving entirely until the Feds came in to put a stop to it.

I think a good portion of the deportation could be accomplished with smart power, rather than boots on the ground, by, for example, denying them access to welfare, foodstamps, driver’s liscences, medical covereage, etc. Rather than taking them into custody and shipping them back, you make it virtually impossible for them to earn a living and participate in our society in general. A good many would then self deport.
