We have plenty of our own low-skill Americans to fill those jobs and they never should have been given to illegals.
We could and would adjust.
Better than the 90 million (once chain migration kicks in) low-skill, Leftist new voters it would soon enough lead to.
I agree on the demographics. But it will take at least a decade to get Americans off welfare (public and private-as in living in the basement) and back to work. The Dems will fight it tooth-and-nail, the courts will block it ever chance they get (as they did in California in the early 90s), and compromises will have to be made.
IT SIMPLY WILL NOT HAPPEN QUICKLY...no matter who is president, they are not going to shut down the country while we wait for today’s millenials and bums to get to work. Talk to that effect is simply PANDERING (as in Santorum) and Trump doesn’t do that.
As to the demographics, that depends on whether Trump or anyone else can understand it. There are options that allow for the use of these workers, but without the demographic impacts - such as being a guest worker where your family stays back at home. If a candidate understands this, maybe we can still get their labor (at least for a while), but without turning us into another Argentina. Trump and Cruz are smart enough to understand that...the others don’t seem to be, or are already compromised.
