People have so had it with our professional political class. Congress’s approval rating is in single digits. The dentist that killed Ceil the lion probably has a higher approval rating. We should be happy a decent man like Trump is leading the anti DC movement instead of someone with evil intent.

“Remember when Rove was a magnificent bastard?
Either he changed or we did.”

Yes I do. Those were glorious days when he was at the top of his game. But he went for the kill and failed when he pushed for amnesty in 2005. He’s been a loser (literally) ever since.

Jeb is toast.

Jeb Bush was director of philanthropy that gave tens of millions to Planned Parenthood

“Same type of nonsense was said of Reagan when he bucked the system. The GOP hated Reagan.”

I’m a Reagan man and have enjoyed what Trump has been doing so far. But they have such opposite views on Reagan’s 11th commandment: never speak ill of another Republican candidate.

Reagan clinched two of the most devastating landslides in American history.

So I’m interested in seeing if Trump can turn the 11th commandment on its head and clinch if not a landslide at least a significant win.

Too many in the gop deserve Trumps violation of the 11th commandment.

I think Cruz rocks too, but the point I am making (and should have done a better job trying to make it) is that unless Conservatives and Republicans-that-lean-conservative pick a person (eg Cruz) now, then the GOPe will do what they did the last two cycles. The time is now.

No worries...I am getting your point.

Additionally, my prediction can be looked at as a historical analysis rather than a soothsayer's thumbsuck. Simply look at the last election cycle and how virtually every single Republican candidate had his time at the top (from Perry through to Cain through to Gingrich and so on), only for Romney to pop up near the end and clinch the crown.

Well that gets back to what "conservative' means to the base and how fickle the base is (myself included).

My canidates didnt run in '12...so I had no choice but to vote against Ohdumba...and vote against him I did.. but the purists didnt...they stayed home...so obama was relected.

Conservatives were firing wildly at each other in a circle, while Romney just paced himself to the nomination.

Lets not forget that the press annointed mittens as the "most electable" GOP canidateand painted everyone else as an extremist...and that we also have low information voters on our side.....see Trump as the current example....

The GOPe may be a bunch of sots, but they're not idiots.

Besides the fact that I would beg to differ...LOL...there are also plenty members of the GOPe that are fine being a minority party....they just want to be part of the process...they want to be popular....which means cowing to the liberals when it really counts....they all rub elbows and golf together and go to each others daughters weddings and such...more like a social club than governing.

The Dem propaganda/stratagem machine is crafter than that of the GOPe,

I dont think so at all....I think it's the fact that the media is overwlemingly liberal and they set the tone and narrative for the low info voters...

There is a great video you have probably seen called "how Obama got elected"...if you havent seen it you need to watch it...

https://youtu.be/mm1KOBMg1Y8

but the GOPe's is still good enough to clinch the Republican nomination unless Conservatives/Republicans-leaning-conservative come together now.

This means overcoming the MSM press' desires too....like Trump is doing right now...the MSM will select the least desirable canidate and push them as a threat to the Dems...like they did with McCain and the "maverick" crap when they knew full well the base would bolt....what shocked them then was palin and her appeal to the base....so they colluded to destroy her image with the moderates....and they bolted with the pureists...see (journolist).

If they don't, my 'prediction'/analysis-based-on-history is that the real Conservatives like Cruz will be relegated to the back seats, Trump will continue to dominate (not necessarily a bad thing) for a while until all concentration is on him, then for one reason or another he will fall off just in time for Jeb Bush to 'rescue the day.' Which equals a Clinton presidency as Independents, even though they don't trust Hillary, will simply not support another Bush.

Yes I'm sure that the moderates want jeb.....and the moderate would rather loose than win with a conservative.

Now Trump might not be a conservative...but he is sure blowing up everyones well laid plans.

I was out last light to see a band...and I aksed a few people what they thought of trump....some of them didnt even like him at all....but they liked what he is doing.

Also I have heard that Trump supported the Single Payer Healthcare system (like they have in Canada) and now supported by the OWS crowd. Is that still his position? Or has it been changed for this election cycle?

He did support single payer in his book published in 2000. However, in his book published in 2011 he says after Obamacare was enacted he can see that it won’t work.

He now supports repeal of Obamacare, allowing people to buy insurance over state lines, and tort reform.

He does insist on saving medicare though.

He is publishing an update to his 2011 book which is supposed to come out tomorrow and should have more detail of his plans.

Thanks for your honest response. You did not put any spin on it. I deeply appreciate it. If you could provide me with a website that has detailed (current) positions of the Trump Campaign I would appreciate it and refer to it before I shoot off my big mouth.

I am still very concerned about his donations to the Clintons. I would be concerned about ANYONE who gives Bonnie and Clod money.

If I could forgive RR for voting for FDR four times, I suppose I could forgive DT for his past support of Single Payer.

Also, the following is from his earlier book. He doesn't mention the Tea Party or OWS in his second book:

"The Tea Party has done a great service to the United States. They have made all politicians look seriously at what’s wrong with our country, including America’s $15 trillion of debt. The media continuously bash the Tea Party. Nothing could be more unfair. In fact, when the Tea Party held a rally recently in Richmond, Virginia, they were forced to put up $10,000 to take care of insurance and barricades—and they gladly did it.

When Occupy Wall Street marched, their gathering caused much more disturbance and disruption and they weren’t asked to put up any money. The press constantly maligns, ridicules, and mocks the Tea Party folks. The fact is the Tea Party is made up of great citizens of this country. And in the end, I think the Tea Party patriots will get the last laugh because they will go down as having done more to change the country than any other group. They are terrific people, great Americans, and I am proud to have such a good relationship with them.

As for the Occupy Wall Street protesters, I am certainly not opposed to them or their concerns, some of which are legitimate. They are angry at the banks and they should be. They are angry at the government and they have every right to be. But, as I tell them all the time when they call my office, they need to move their protest over to the White House and get the community organizer out of his 747 and into the Oval Office so he can get to work making good deals with other countries and stopping other nations from ripping us off. If we could take back our jobs and money from China, OPEC, and all of the other places that are ripping us off, we wouldn’t have to decimate our safety net and leave those who really need help stranded. That’s a cause worth fighting for."

I would disagree with your assessment of OWS.

I think they are all communists and radicals.

Their agenda is to nationalize the banks.

I have no issue per se with Wall Street, or the banks, or any other financial institution for that matter. I don’t have an issue with the private sector in this country.

We have crony capitalism in this country because we have crony government.

Imagine if corporations were not subject to the federal income tax. Imagine if regulations were dramatically reduced. You would see far less corruption and far less crony capitalism and far less lobbying in DC.

I view crony capitalism as an outgrowth of corrupt and oversized government.

It isn’t my opinion. I was just quoting Trump from his earlier book.

I liked his comment about telling them to move their protest to the White House.

There are huge differences between the TP and OWS.

Although I am not formally a member of the TP or any other political organization outside of my voter registration, I view the Tea Party just as its name suggests. A group of patriotic Americans who are opposed to excessive taxation and government and folks who are devoted the founding principles of our nation and our Founding Fathers vision that we should be a limited government constitutional republic.

OWS too is appropriately named IMHO. Fact is they want to occupy more than just Wall Street. They are radical Leftists who want takeover all industries and businesses they don’t like. They are hardcore Stalinists and Marxists in every way. At least the one I’ve run into and seen on TV.
