On Tuesday, Senator and presidential candidate Ted Cruz (R-TX) had this to say about Obama’s deal with Iran:
“If this deal is consummated, it will make the Obama administration the world’s leading financier of radical Islamic terrorism. Billions of dollars under the control of this administration will flow into the hands of jihadists who will use that money to murder Americans, to murder Israelis, to murder Europeans.”
Not much to argue about, right? So you’d think a “severe conservative” like Mitt Romney would support Cruz for taking a strong conservative stand against the nuclear ambitions of a terrorist nation.
Well… while the former Republican presidential candidate says he’s opposed to the Iran deal, he is attacking the current presidential candidate for his criticism of the agreement.
I am opposed to the Iran deal, but @SenTedCruz is way over the line on the Obama terrorism charge. Hurts the cause.

Maybe Mittens should spend a few of his millions to buy a clue.
In a recent CNN interview, National Security Adviser Susan Rice admitted the Obama deal will give Iran access to up to $150 billion to spend as it wishes and would do nothing to stop the Islamic Republic from sending windfalls to its terrorist comrades in Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and throughout the Middle East, North Africa and perhaps even the Americas.
Of course, attacking Conservatives is nothing new for Romney as we witnessed during the 2014 mid-term elections when he campaigned extensively against T.E.A. Party and other conservative Republicans. He also expressed support for fellow Gutless On Principles (GOP) Hall of Shame member Chris Christie for president, saying that the New Jersey governor could “save our party” because of his ability to reach across the aisle and act like—I’m sorry, work with—the Democrats.
Romney, just like McCain before him, continues to prove that there’s a difference between saying you’re a Conservative and actually being one. As for his criticism of Cruz is concerned, Ted should consider that an endorsement.
By the way, Ted has already responded to Romney’s comments, saying that it proves why he “got clobbered” by Obama in 2012.
Well said, Mr. Cruz. Well said.
Trump/Romney fans are the political equivalent the mothers of thugs, with long criminal records who get arrested for murder or killed while committing an armed robbery who say “He was a good boy! He was just fixin to get his life together!”
This is a ringing endorsement. Bring the elitist rino attacks.
yeah, he did......
This is why the MSM gives so much coverage to Trump.
In Ted Cruz we have a true conservative fighting the fight every day on our behalf in Congress sticking his neck out, deploying his considerable talents to expose the left
This is why the MSM would rather give time to covering Trump too.
Romney needs to go back to sleep. As lost to the real existential issues upon USA, right now. Stop Romney, go home.
I think Trump is sincere, I think his motives are noble, and I think he'd make the same kind of Republican/conservative president for the U.S. as Arnold Schwarzenegger made as California governor.
It took me a little while to place who it is that the Trump supporters here remind me of ... that "who" is ME, way back when, when I was so hopeful and enthusiastic about Schwarzenegger, even though I liked Tom McClintock better; I was convinced he couldn't win, much the same way people who like Cruz better are still opting for Trump because they think Cruz can't win.
The big difference is that in fact, Cruz CAN win. Other than that, "winning" with another Arnold is effectively the same as losing. I apply what I've learned from my mistakes, and voting for Arnold was a MISTAKE. I ONLY vote now for what I want/who to win. See my tagline.
You forget to add “Do not dig into Trump’s history and see what’s really there, just trust his words of today”
Lol....loved Trump’s take on McRomney...
“He choked! He choked like a dog!”
“It is incoherent blather.”
Trump wrote his book Time to Get Tough back in 2011. His opinions on a variety of subjects back then are totally applicable to today, were well formed in 2011, and are not some half baked, recently concocted opinions. Unlike you, I like Cruz, whereas you don’t like Trump. Cruz likes Trump, you like Cruz, why don’t you like Trump like Cruz does?
Trump is brilliant, Cruz is brilliant. Trump sells his brilliance better, as reflected in the polls. Trump is in double digits; for whatever reason, Cruz is stuck at about 4%. I’m backing the one who can actually win. Trump can bring Cruz into his administration. The best of both worlds.
Trump doesn’t make the headlines, the liberal media writes the headlines.
It is the leftist media deciding to show the clown show instead of showing what the real serious candidates are saying. It’s not about “name recognition”, they are trying to skew the perceptions of the public.
Bert doesn't understand that the only ones who "got us Obama" were those -- including heaven only knows how many illegal/imaginary/dead "Americans" -- who marked Obama's name on the ballot.
Those who voted "against" Obama by voting for Romney, ONLY voted to turn the Republican party hard left. They are in denial when they proclaim they voted "against" a frikkin' thing. On any ballot, anywhere, you only get to vote FOR. Voting "against" is pretend. Always has been, always will be.
hadaclueonce, give your dog a pat on the heat for me. :^)
My favorite political sound bite of the year! Pretty much sums up Mitt's political career.
“You forget to add Do not dig into Trumps history and see whats really there, just trust his words of today”
You can dig into Trump’s history any time you want; he’s written 15 books from the 1980s on. So you can go way back to find out Trump’s words over the years. Start digging and see what’s really there.
In Ted Cruz we have a true conservative fighting the fight every day on our behalf in Congress sticking his neck out, deploying his considerable talents to expose the left, today it is Kerry yesterday it was McConnell, while Trump struts from event to event making less and less coherent sense, lurching from one ideological position to another but drawing mindless praise from conservatives who should know better.
Romney needs to focus on getting that planet of his own by being a good Mormon and leave us alone.
“I am opposed to the Iran deal, but @SenTedCruz is way over the line on the Obama terrorism charge.”
This is why the majority of people in America hate Republicans. Why are you against the deal, Mittens, if not for the connection to terrorism? Why be against Obama’s policies if they’re not socialism? Why be against abortion if it’s not murder?
So Mitt is against the Iran deal...why?
Because this is a conservative forum, I can say that he is not the man to lead a conservative movement. He is not a conservative he is intellectually and philosophically incoherent and has been all over the lot on every side of every issue for decades. His history belies the kind of stability we want in either a conservative or a president-which of course is one in the same. It is the richest of ironies that Trump rises to the top with the support of the conservative movement by pointing out the absence of true conservatism among the Republican elite and by adopting an anti-immigration stance when he himself has no historic claim on any of these issues.
I do not believe that Trump has a better chance of getting elected than Cruz. There are just too many people viscerally opposed to Trump. While I concede that Cruz has earned his share of negatives (earned is clearly the appropriate word, Cruz has drawn his negatives by his actions not by gratuitous flippery). I think he is possessed of the intellect (clearly superior to Trump's), a sense of history (clearly distorted in Trump), the forensic ability (he never puts a foot down wrong, unlike Trump), and the integrity (do we need to catalog Trump's divorces and corporate bankruptcies?) to overcome those negatives. In other words, Trump has probably hit his ceiling but Cruz can go all the way.
But even assuming you are right and I am wrong, Cruz cannot get elected and Trump can, what we will have in the White House is not a conservative but a man whose body is but a life-support system for his ego. You will not have a conservative, you will have a man lurching from issue to issue on an ad hoc basis, committing gaffe after gaffe, disgracing the party and caricaturing the nation before the world.
I see no conservative victory in that picture.
If all you 100%ers wouldn’t have stayed home in 2012, we wouldn’t be in the mess right now. Mitt Romney would be the one making the Oligarchs happy by opening up trade with Iran and giving them $100,000,000,000.00. Thank you 100%ers (I’m not being sarcastic. I was stupid and voted for Mitt).
Can I add you to the LesserOfTwoEvils caucus ping list? I can ping you on the many articles that document how the GOP has systematically duped almost half the country into voting for them no matter what.
