See, you’re demonstrating an interesting aspect of what happens when a conservative decides to trash his principles in order to support a liberal.

You’re doing your best to try and minimize my relationship with God-—my personal experience with Him-—by labeling allegiance to Him as “selfish”, “throwing my vote away”, etc.

That’s why I didn’t relate the details of my spiritual experience regarding the 2012 election. I knew you would behave just as a liberal would, and attempt to dismiss it...in order to salve your own conscience and justify your support for a liberal.

Like I said, that’s what happens. In order to support a liberal, you have to become one. So you have fun with that.

BTW, for the record, I’ve heard all that “seminal election” crap before. Remember, 2012 was supposed to be the most important election ever.

Yeah, save it.

We disagree. I don't view your allegiance to Him as selfish, I just realize that in the past I have been selfish in terms of my voting patterns. I used to root for Republicans like I would root for a baseball team, in the hope that this time would be different. And I realize that that was selfish, on my part, because I knew deep down that I was rooting for people who were actively working to fundamentally change this country in a way that I didn't want.

You have made your decision, and I hope that it the right one for you. But, personally, I am fed up. I voted for Romney, most recently, because we knew how much damage Obama could do in a second term. But, we now know that Romney never really even tried, and was probably closer ideologically to Obama than you or I. While you have been told that you should never vote for a liberal again (which I respect), I am equally convinced that Trump is the only way that this country will be saved. I cannot convince you of that, and I wouldn't try. But to vote for my favorite (Cruz) would, in my opinion, be selfish on my part, because I think he has no chance, in the primary, or the general, and would have no chance to really affect matters even he got past the first two insurmountable hurdles.

Trump does have that chance, and has clearly won the admiration of those that I hold in high esteem.
