Two of the most dangerous trends in conservatism as it has gone more mainstream are the search for “the hero” and the willingness to stop thinking when “the hero” arrives.

The solution to America’s problems aren’t going to be resolved in some heroic figure. Things don’t work that way except for Jesus Christ. The solution to America’s problems is going to come from Americans. DC isn’t going to solve the problem.

Trump’s not the hero people make him out to be. He’s been vague and mushy all along, only doing it in a brash way. Delve deeper and he’s hard-shell on melting ice cream all the way.

He’s still better than Bush.

Once again, irrelevant. The question is not about heroism, or about conservatism. It is about whether or not a candidate has the capacity to tame the DC cartel. I believe Trump has that capacity. Obviously, you don't. But in a very long time of watching politics, I have never seen someone who I could utter the words "he can change everything", in terms of the DC swamp. And that includes Reagan. I am not saying he will, or that he wants to. But the fact that he can, separates him from everyone else, stretching back a long way.
