Could someone explain why rank and file democrats would want the Ex-Im Bank? I see why politicians that are part of the Washington Cartel want it and why big business wants it but why would Democrats in general want it? (Maybe they just don’t know what it is?)

Damn weasel. He added an amendment to restore the ex-im bank to a piece of must pass legislation himself. Therefore if you passed the Transportation bill you reauthorized the bank.
