Now I’m starting to be suspicious. As Chris Hedges [whom we all hate, I know] made the best argument for the Branding Coup made on America when Obama was “packaged” as a reformer, street fighter, and all around racial peacekeeper.

“Barack Obama is a brand. And the Obama brand is designed to make us feel good about our government while corporate overlords loot the Treasury, our elected officials continue to have their palms greased by armies of corporate lobbyists, our corporate media diverts us with gossip and trivia and our imperial wars expand in the Middle East. Brand Obama is about being happy consumers. We are entertained. We feel hopeful. We like our president. We believe he is like us. But like all branded products spun out from the manipulative world of corporate advertising, we are being duped into doing and supporting a lot of things that are not in our interest.”

REMEMBER - the BRANDING of O fooled not just Democrats, but disenchanted gopers, and independents - Thinking “this guy is the REAL THING”. Wisconsin housewives swooned, congratulating themselves on HOW FAR WE’VE COME on racial issues. BRILLIANT strategy - because we all found out this was no reformer but a lawn jockey for Wall St and the same people who have controlled our election cycles for a very very long time.

As we get more savvy - so do our masters.

THAT SAID -

I know how much time and energy some of us have put into defending the Donald - scrappy outsider [check]- Demonized by the men and women we hate [check]- articulating everything the ‘average’ American ‘on both sides’ is angry about. [check]

the Donald - ridiculed, laughed at, and chastened by the ‘insiders’ we love to hate. [check]

Now that he has garnered the support of the extreme right, the packaging department is going to work on the middle and left -

ARE WE BEING MANIPULATED AGAIN.

Is this guy just another Wall St insider - packaged to play on the emotional strings of the disenchanted on both side, while working for the same ole same ole.

The turnaround on him is just a teensy bit too convenient. the talking heads at Fox, the ‘focus’ group - the 34% approval rating of Hispanics who are being drenched in anti Trump rhetoric on all the spanish speaking web sites and radio stations.

I Hate the Game so much.. and I fear it because of the branding game worked so well last time, they might be crafting another version... this time packaging the PERFECT foil to a Bush/Clinton defeat

all the while providing us with another drone for the banks, wall st, the multi nationals, et al.

anybody else smell a wall st rat?

No. “We” are not being manipulated at all. I have never, ever seen a focus group as unanimous as this one-—not even for Zero. It really is amazing. They GET that even though he’s rich, he’s like them.

Not sure where you’re going with the Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt piece. FUD is what marketing departments do to competitors to boost their product sales.

Makes me wonder what candidate you’re out here hawking.

You should come clean.

Conservatives had Barry’s number from the get go.

Trump is a breath of fresh air with a successful empire behind him to back up his talk.

Well, here the thing, it ALWAYS a good idea to be skeptical of those running for office. Whether it’s Obama, Clinton, Cruz, or Trump. And it’s a good idea to never get sucked into any cult of personality.

So on that front you’re asking the right questions.

But however, as C.S. Lewis once said, the man who sees through everything sees a wholly transparent world, and he is just as blind as a man who cannot see. There are times when skepticism and cynicism can go too far, so I would caution you getting too caught up in seeing a conspiracy behind every corner.

Newbie, you’re wrong about Wall Street.

Trump is from Main Street. He builds things and operates them then sells them. He made his money the old fashioned way — he earns it!

Time will tell...We are all holding our breath...having a guy like him kick the establishment (media, parties) is almost too good to be true...We can hope....Nobody really knows how this Trump thing will turn out...but i’m at least enjoying politics again..after being bored to death with all these posers since Reagan...Thanks Donald! Even if you drop out, you made your mark :)

Look, let’s say you are right. Trump playing us for some insider Wall Street deals. All we have is what we see from the media. Well, you see the other candidates. Tell me what we have to lose.

Seriously. Cruz is NOT going to be the nominee. I guess there is a chance with Walker. But with the media ruling the election, with political correctness controlling the air that is breathed, the Dems will probably win. And they might still have Hillary the Murderous Felon as their nom. If the Pubs won with Heb!, how would that be any better? Our leaders would all be cowering behind advisors and handlers, with their number one goal each day not to be called a name.

Again. What do we have to lose? And Trump ALREADY has political correctness squirming on the mats.

Trump makes his money in real estate not in high finance.

What’s more its mostly american real estate.

so his money is mostly american made money.
its not money made overseas and then parked there.

Therefor he does what traditional rich guys used to do.

he want to protect his property.

These days way too many rich guys in the USA have so many interests
overseas that they don’t really care all that much about the
USA.
