Donald Trump, whos polling at the head of the 2016 Republican primary pack, has finally decided to hire a national political director.
The media moguls presidential campaign announced Thursday that it had hired Michael Glassner for the job. Michael is responsible for developing and implementing a national political plan and will oversee strategic planning operations nationwide on behalf of Donald J. Trump for President, Trumps campaign said in a statement.
In the 2008 cycle, Glassner served as a top aide to Sarah Palin on Sen. John McCains 2008 presidential campaign. Hes also a former aide to former Kansas senator Bob Dole, and in the 2000 presidential campaign cycle served the Bush/Cheney campaign as an adviser in Iowa.

It may be to give him an out later?
” Trump still needs to be careful to stay far away from Schmitt/Wallace. I wonder if Trump heard something about them and was part of his reason for unloading on McLame.”
I’m thinking Trump has had a heart to heart with Palin about her staffing experience. As in, who to trust.
Trump admires Palin’s courage and I think she has nothing on him in that department.
Trump just makes courage look easy, not noisy. Confidence just rolls off of him, and we are a nation starved for confidence.
Trump doesn’t hire people and keep them around if they are screw-ups.
He’s likely the last guy to want to work for if he is there to muck things up.
I think so too.
“You’re fired” is not hard for him to say, ever.
Although to me Donald appears to really like Palin. Maybe he hates how she was savaged by the entire machine (bammy, Hill, dems, media, rinos-mccain) and wants to exact some vengeance for her and give her a place at the gaming table somewhere. What a poke in the eye for Donald to deny Hillary her crown after she has had to ride the beast for so many years to get where she is now.
Looks like she hired him for her PAC when she was flirting with a run for 2012, so I take it she thought he was one of the good guys.

But Palin hired him into her PAC ahead of her possible 2012 run.
So I take it she thought he was one of the good guys.

Rollins is a pro who knows how to play hardball. Don’t always agree with him, but I think he knows how to run a campaign.
One microphone (that he paid for), one lawyer, and a smartphone with a Twitter account.
Amen.
I don’t think she is associated officially with the pac, candidates cannot do that...but I will admit I don’t know for sure this guy is an estab dweeb. I’ve worked for groups and campaigns that were establishment driven....but I was not part of that influence.
I heard him in an interview talking about the campaign and he was like “I think I’ll will the nomination and I think I’ll win the general after that.” None of this “if I’m elected” or “if the voters place their trust in me” blah blah blah like the others. Just a quiet, “I think I’ll win.” I like that.
Interned out of college and stayed for 15 years ending as senior adviser with Bob Dole? What on G-d’s-green-earth did he ever do for Ole Blue Pill Bob?
Palin got snaked with her senior staff “picks”.
Sorry, but I’m not impressed with this one.
Just be “The Donald” and tell it like it is.
Sounds more like he worked for McCain and was assigned to Sarah
Ambivalent
Worked for Bob Dole
Huge Israel lobbyist sort
Facilitator tween corporate and NGOs
Going by stats his ideology likely to be weak or fluid
Great segue for Trump haters that last line
Run with it Yall lol

I want to see Michelle Bachmann as Director of the IRS. She owes them some payback.
The veteran Republican operative who could help guide Sarah Palin into the 2012 presidential race has a close friendship with Todd Palin to thank for his new role. He is now at the top of the former Alaska governor’s political hierarchy.
Friends and associates of Michael Glassner, whom Palin recently hired to be her chief of staff, say it was Todd who reached out to him in recent weeks and urged him to come aboard. His task: to bring some order to Palin’s far-flung and highly-insular circle of advisers.

Sounds good to me.
You must know more than Todd Palin. /sarc
I remember Ed Rollins from the Perot days in 1992. He seemed old then, or maybe I was much younger.
Some good choices, but Trump should put Ted Cruz as AG, with Trey Gowdy as undersecretary. I don’t believe Trump could win with Palin on the ticket. She should be Secretary of Energy.
