"The document warns that 'preparations' for an attack in India are underway and predicts that an attack will provoke an apocalyptic confrontation with America," the report said.
The ISIS is preparing to attack India to provoke an Armageddon-like confrontation with the US, according to an internal recruitment document of the feared group which also seeks to unite the Pakistani and Afghan Taliban into a single army of terror.
An investigative story published yesterday by the USA Today and reported by American Media Institute refers to a 32- page Urdu document obtained from a Pakistani citizen with connections inside the Pakistani Taliban.
"The document warns that 'preparations' for an attack in India are underway and predicts that an attack will provoke an apocalyptic confrontation with America," the report said.
"Even if the US tries to attack with all its allies, which undoubtedly it will, the ummah (Muslims) will be united, resulting in the final battle," it added.
The document, according to the report, was independently translated into English by a Harvard scholar and verified by several serving and retired intelligence official.
Bruce Riedel, a retired CIA official and now a senior fellow at the Brookings Institute, said striking in India would magnify the ISIS' stature and threaten the stability of the region.
"Attacking in India is the Holy Grail of South Asian jihadists," he was quoted as saying.
The undated document is titled 'A Brief History of the Islamic State Caliphate, The Caliphate According to the Prophet.'
It seeks to unite dozens of factions of the Pakistani and Afghan Taliban into a single army of terror, the daily said.
"It includes a never-before-seen history of the Islamic State, details chilling future battle plans, urges al-Qaeda to join the group and says the Islamic State's leader should be recognized as the sole ruler of the world's 1 billion Muslims under a religious empire called a 'caliphate'," it said.
Aware of the ISIS' presence in Afghanistan, the White House said it is closely monitoring the situation.
ISIS' presence and its threat perception was also discussed in the past two months between senior officials of US and Pakistan.
"Instead of wasting energy in a direct confrontation with the US, we should focus on an armed uprising in the Arab world for the establishment of the caliphate," the document said.
The document was reviewed by three US intelligence officials, who said they believe the document is authentic based on its unique markings and the fact that language used to describe leaders, the writing style and religious wording match other documents from the ISIS, USA Today added.
I fail to see how India is even close to being viewed as an enemy, or vice versa.
Enemy of whom? Pakistan and whatever hashish addled mind came up with the document referred to in the article? Definitely. Not the U.S., if that’s how you read the article. India should be able take care of herself vs. anything the Taliban or ISIS could throw at her. This article reads like something even Debka would decline to publish.
King Hussien won’t fight ISIL, ISIS or whatever they want to call those psycho ragheads on U.S. terms militarily, so they will do anything to drag us kicking and screaming into a bloody confrontation on their terms. It’s only a matter of time.
It has a certain stupidity about it. :') This could be an actual ISIS delusion, but it sounds insufficiently plausible. Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.
Almost as delusionally stupid as our leadership at the moment.
It also has that child temper tantrum feel of “stop ignoring me” to it.
I lived in India, and can say, that the hatred of Muslims runs very deep, and so, it would be a blood bath, similar to 1947.....
The danger of this threat must be taken very seriously and must not be underestimated.
Remember: Hitler was taken for a fool at first. This threat is far more dangerous than the Nazi movement.
“0bama has been briefed on the situation” -DRINK!
Just because it is stupid doesnt mean it isnt real, or serious. Plenty of lives have been been lost to stupid, maybe more than to any other single cause.
I don’t underestimate the threat. My point is that no one should underestimate India either. She’s not the post independence Nehru and Ghandi half starving socialist cripple she once was. India’s been a nuclear state for forty one years. And as B212 mentions, the Hindu majority’s (and the Sikh’s, who are prominent in the military) hatred - dry tinder needing only a match - for Muslims is deep and simmering.
Then why did the police have to scramble to find rifles and ammunition during that terror attack several years ago?
For the next 18 mos, if ISIS wants to provoke the US into armegeddan, they’ll have to attack a more cherished ally than India. Cuba or Iran come to mind.
China is a factor to consider, but it is doubtful that China would come to the aid of her archival India or try to save the West from its self-destructive decay.
Because the police in Mumbai were woefully unprepared. Our own FBI lost people and learned hard lessons when they had only pistols to go against AK’s. The Indian military is another thing entirely. One can ask the Pakistanis, who have had their a$$e$ handed to them by the Indians in several regional wars (a couple times when the US and China were quietly backing Pakistan). Now there’s a nuclear standoff and I personally find it hard to believe the Pakistanis are crazy enough to allow ISIS or the Taliban to provoke an atomic exchange. Small group terror attacks on soft targets are another matter.
Joke’s on them. Obama ain’t going to war to defend India.
Ain’t going to defend ANYONE.
Assistance? For what?
>>I fail to see how India is even close to being viewed as an enemy, or vice versa.<<
India and Pakistan have been at a state of war over Kashmir since 1947. Three Indo/Paki wars have been fought over this land.
