But - since DuBose is (was) black - then it’s now a racist issue.

You're right that cops have shot and fired in these situations, and gotten away with it. But the reason this cop isn't getting away with it isn't because DuBose is black - it's because the cop was wearing a body camera. A body camera that shows, very clearly, that DuBose was not trying to run the officer over, and in fact posed no threat to the officer's life (or the life of anyone else).

I have come around to the use of body cams on all LEO.

Any cop who is operating within the law and procedure would have nothing to fear from that, and I believe MOST would welcome it.
