Instead of being exclusively angry with this fellow and digging up every detail of his life (I guess because he gave to a Republican candidate, this must means it’s OK to do this, sarc), I would like to see people being just as or even more mad with ones like Robert Mugabe and Jacob Zuma and other sub Saharan African government leaders. The illegal and immoral poaching and trade in ivory and lion skins owes a great deal of their existence to the rampant corruption that these leaders preside over in their governments.

Was this guy’s family going hungry? Did they plan to eat the lion meat? Of course not. He’s a wealthy dentist who, when he’s not inflicting pain on patients in his office, enjoys inflicting pain on endangered animals only to hang their mounted heads on the walls of his man cave. Fine! If it’s heads he wants, I can send him a long list of names of people whose heads REALLY ought to be hanging on walls. I’m sure I don’t need to bother naming names and I certainly don’t need “officials” kicking down my door at three in the morning.
