Even if he was going to drive off, how does that justify the use of deadly force? The officer was not in front of the vehicle, so the guy wasn’t about to run him over - so, where is the imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury?
I don't know procedure, are they allowed to just drive off? I know if they draw their weapon they plan on using it, and if they use it they shoot to kill.
We both know the answer to that.
Too bad he just wasn’t truthful and didn’t say, “The GD gun went off in the excitement and I did not intentionally mean to pull the trigger and shoot the suspect.”

It apparently doesn’t matter to some posters here. For them it seems that just the semblance of not being a good little robot and “obeying” every word from a cop’s mouth in a quick enough fashion is grounds for a cop to get scared and trigger- finger shoot you dead.
