Sixty-three percent of registered voters oppose cutting off federal funds to Planned Parenthood, according to a new poll commissioned by the organization.
The poll, conducted by the Democratic firm Hart Research Associates, finds that along with 63 percent of voters overall who oppose defunding Planned Parenthood, 68 percent of independents also oppose the move. The poll finds that a bare majority of 53 percent of Republicans favor defunding, while 34 percent oppose the move.
The survey finds that voters are more likely to vote for a candidate who supports funding Planned Parenthood over one calling to end funding, by a margin of 58 to 26 percent. The results come as part of Planned Parenthood seeks to defend itself against the Center for Medical Progress, an anti-abortion group that has stirred controversy by posting undercover videos about fetal tissue donation by Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood has also hired the public relations firm SKDKnickerbocker, which helped organize Tuesdays conference call on the poll.
The undercover videos have spurred a new push among conservatives to cut off federal funding for Planned Parenthood. The Senate is likely to vote this week on a defunding measure.
But Planned Parenthood said the poll results show Republicans are only hurting themselves by going after the group.
The survey found finds by a margin of 52 percent to 25 percent that voters are more likely to believe Planned Parenthood than the video-makers on the claim that Planned Parenthood does not profit from fetal tissue donation.
"Today's poll shows much of what we already knew: that defunding Planned Parenthood is a losing proposition not just for the millions of men and women who come through Planned Parenthood's doors every day, but also with voters who don't want to see their politicians focused on restricting lifesaving care, Cecile Richards, the groups president, said in a statement.
Backers also zeroed in on womens views in the poll, which found that 52 percent of women have positive feelings about the organization and 27 percent have negative feelings.
The renewed attacks on Planned Parenthood are likely to become a substantial political liability for Republicans, especially among women, said Geoff Garin, president of Hart Research.
The poll was conducted from July 23 to 26, among 800 registered voters. The first undercover video on Planned Parenthood was released on July 14.
The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
Shocking.
Note: I post this because you will likely hear this push poll being quoted as fact for the next few days. Beware.
Guaranteed.
I don’t believe it, but even if only 25% feel this way, it’s pretty disgusting.
It doesn’t matter if it’s 99%.
Majority opinion cannot make right of something objectively wrong.
I agree. We are begging for God’s judgement,
Dem pollsters will ALWAYS get the results that the Dems want.
I am sure the vast majority of those polled don’t know PP does abortions, let alone know that PP sells baby parts.
“Majority opinion cannot make right of something objectively wrong”
Well, YOU ain’t gonna be on the MSM evening news with THAT
attitude!
I'm sure that the vast majority, if they knew, would "personally not approve" but would not want to "push their opinion on others"
I’m still trying to figure out how PP got its mouth on the taxpayer teat in the first place.
Democrat pollsters push the usual Appeal To Majority fallacy.
Lazy and cynical, but a clear sign they are feeling the heat.
I’m the wrong type anyway.
I do have a huge head, but I have an equally huge body.
I’m not what you’d call a “Network Lollipop.”
A totally worthless "poll" conducted by 'RAT scumbags. Nice! These numbers are BS and Hart knows they are BS.
While Hart sets up their info on how the questions were asked to obfuscate what was actually asked, they give enough clues here in their documentation that they asked the typical leading questions to influence the poll answerer.

It also appears that some voters were swayed by appealing to their gender or their political affiliation.
They were cowed by the number of questions and set ups at how altruistic PP appeared from the pollster’s words, and thus fell for the belief that what app does is worthy of taxpayers’ money.
If the government owes you birth control, why does it NOT owe you shoes, or a home?
Planned “Parenthood” PAID these piggies to conduct this “poll”? LOL! You’ve got to be kidding me! What a bunch of shameless hussies! The is a laugh. A joke! Fools believing fools!
It’s a perfect post and it’s horrifying and extremely sad that people defend this sickening process.
MSM are in an almost unified black-out of this news!
The survey finds that voters are more likely to vote for a candidate who supports funding Planned Parenthood over one calling to end funding
How can this be? can it be they just don’t understand what PP do for a living or their philosophy? just mushrooms?
