I'm sure the Obamatons aren't doing this Pollard parole (if the story is true) for humanitarian reasons. If that were true, they would have released Pollard in 2009. So what's the quid pro quo that Israel will have to give back to the Administration in exchange?

Might be Obama preempting Hillary (or a GOP candidate) from taking advantage of the issue. It makes sense if Obama & Co. want to scuttle Hillary’s campaign.

So what's the quid pro quo that Israel will have to give back to the Administration in exchange? None. This is essentially a mandatory parole. Under guidelines at the time, parole is mandatory at 30 years unless the prisoner has violated prison rules while incarcerated, or represents a current threat to the US.

It’s a no-brainer that Odungo wants something for Pollard’s release. I’m guessing it is Israel keeping mum about the Iran deal.

Have you seen the explanation for Pollard’s release in New York media?
Federal life sentences come up for parole at 30 years, according to rules at the time. Standard practice has been to grant parole at that time unless there has been some kind of bad or uncooperative behavior.
One of the criticisms of Pollard’s treatment is his differential treatment compared to similar convicts. This parole is a return to typical treatment.
Or so goes the argument. IMHO, Pollard really should have nothing to complain about, but that’s just me.

(I paid for an argument, but you're just contradicting!)
