I happened to notice from the article that the man had been Superintendent of Public Schools. And now he moves because the schools spend too much money and the taxes to support them are too high. Sounds like Frankenstein is crying over the monster he created.

And that is the answer to the unasked question by the author. A high percentage of people are employed by some governmental job. Many, many teachers. They retire and live like movie stars and incidentally, also leave the state. We got out of the insanity four years ago. Kinda miss Stone Harbor though.
