You are 100% wrong when you say that this isn't a battle of right and wrong or of principle. The only way you can believe that is to believe there's no God in heaven. I can tell you He's there.
I voted for the lesser evil in 2012. I had spent quite a bit of time praying about it, especially after Romney made his statement that two people of the same sex who "love each other" should be able to adopt children. And I was getting a very strong conviction to just avoid voting.
Then Benghazi happened. I caved and voted for Romney out of fear. The very next day I went to pray and it was as if God wasn't even there. That day began a spiritual crisis for me that lasted quite a long time. I had asked repeatedly for God's guidance, and when He gave it to me, I ignored it.
I vowed to Him and to my husband that would never happen again. And it won't, whether I "sleep on it" or not. I will never, ever cast a vote for another liberal.
That includes Trump. The man is telling us he's a Democrat. Besides that, I've never been able to stand him. I think he's a sleaze, and his treatment of Michelle Malkin was just confirmation of my opinion.
So unless you're going to stand in front of God for me, and mediate, and guarantee me you'll have success, no argument will change my mind.
We have an incredibly solid, principled, courageous man of integrity named Ted Cruz who is a Constitutional conservative. If we toss him aside to vote in some sleazebag reality TV show celebrity, we will deserve what we get...and that is to lose and to suffer what comes afterward.
As always ... Amen, Sister FReeper.
Rooster, the only thing that matters in the world is what you vote for.
Which of those qualities do you expect to get him elected?
You can conflate your commitment to God with who you vote for, but you then have to ask yourself "who of the very writers of the Bible, was able to thwart the ultimate destruction of Israel?"
I submit to you "innocent as a dove" apart from "sly as a serpent" is STILL disobedience.
