Scott Walkers budget reforms in Wisconsin are one of modern conservatisms greatest success stories. So why would Donald Trump attack them? Because 1) he is not a Republican, and 2) he is not a conservative. Trump went after Walker yesterday:

Trump is effecting a hostile takeover of the GOP, so, if he is successful, he will soon be Mr. Republican.
At least 4 Trump owned businesses have gone bankrupt in the last 15 years. He can protect his personal assets just like any other corporation, but the notion that this guy is some kind of financial wizard is nonsense.
I’d take Walker, a largely consistent conservative who has fought huge battles against the left including their all powerful labor unions - and won, over Trump, a self promoting clown who changes his positions on issues to suit his immediate needs.
Trump is no conservative. You are being conned. Actually at this point I am not even sure if Trumpsters care that they are being conned. Trump channels their anger and that appears good enough for the moment.
Stay focus.... You were talking finances.
YOU may trust a college dropout, very little private sector, politician with your finances to take your to the promise land.....(LOL), but most people rather have a top business school college grad that made 10 Billion dollars in the private sector.
I guess we’ll see where this goes but I don’t trust Donald Trump.
Why does Donald say and do these inexplicable things? Why did Donald say: "I sometimes have Democrat thoughts."
ROTFLOL.
REALITY CHECK This is one of Donald's famous teases---the way he's gonna peel votes off Hillary's slobbering Dem base.
Just my opinion. Walker would be giving a third party opinion. The people who should weigh in is those he lied to. When Mcconnell lies to Walker, then he should have a comment. I don't think serious candidates should make a statement on everything and get into every fight unless it's taken directly to them. They would sound like their pandering for votes.
None of the Republican office holders pretend to be Republicans, either.....
Don't forget the Canadian Universal style Healthcare he supports, or supported, or kinda supports, or whatever his position is now. Be interesting to see how he plans to pay for that. All well and good to bash Obamacare, but the last plan I've actually heard from him was his love of socialized medicine. But nah, Trumpsters don't want to hear any policy specifics. Just anger and bombast. I wonder if they've even noticed that Trump is already backpeddled so far on amnesty he is pretty much right where the other candidates are. Secure the border and kick out criminals is his current position, that is no different than pretty much all the rest. The rest, apparently, can stay if they are good people according to "the Donald"
By the way, Bush threw the 19922 election by not campaigning hard enough.
Just like a leftist you take the position of “it’s everyone else fault” for Bush lost instead of Bush did not campaign right.
You should be asking how did he lose his own base?
I think we should define what “Republican” means, first.
Right now, according to House and Senate leadership it means:
“Rubber stamp everything that our Marxist President comes up with”
and
“Ever-increasing Federal spending”
and
“Ever-increasing Federal power, control, and tyranny”
and
“Open borders - unlimited amnesty for any illegal, including felons”
Conservatives know what being a Republican DOESN’T mean - it doesn’t mean being conservative in any way - fiscally, socially, Constitutionally.
So what, exactly is the complaint here?
Trump is 69 years old and “has never thought about abortion” before. Sorry, I don’t buy it.
We now have the collapse of Detroit and the chaos in Baltimore to compare against the future results in Wisconsin. Democrat governing versus Republican governing.
Regarding infrastructure spending, it's possible that a medium-term strategy was to free up the funds by cutting back on union entitlements instead of raising taxes. Once the cash flow settles down from the change, then the money can be allocated to road repair.
This kind of strategy might have been a non-starter in the past, because nobody would get past taking on the unions first the way that Walker did.

Scotty better toughen up a little. In fact where is Scotty? He’s on a listening tour somewhere. Terrified somebody will ask him a question. LOL!
Why is only Trump vilified?
The terms “Republican” and “Democrat” are mere labels.
For example, I know folks that lead very conservative lives, yet always vote democrat. Conversely, I know some folks that lead very liberal lives, and vote Republican.
The most disgusting example are the RINO’s professing to be Republican, yet do excellent work screwing their own base and side with obama more than not.
So what is Trump? I say let’s see what he does, how he acts, what he says. Personally, I think he’s mostly Independent with conservative values.
Right now he’s saying what needs to be said and wants to rebuild what the libs have destroyed. Regardless of what label this guy is going by or others think he is, he’s doing good right now.
“Strength and Honor”, Indeed! We should all be proud of Cruz for standing up against the liars in Congress, especially the one, McConnell, who is doing so much damage to the country.
America needs to know that McConnell would not allow defunding of Planned Parenthood, something that a majority of Americans wanted even before the horrible information about organ harvesting was made public.
McConnell and Boehner have to go!
Because government is about “finances” only?
You sound kinda like an elitist, establishment type. Walker knows how to run a state and has run it well. What he has done for Wisconsin is nothing short of miraculous. Just largely destroying the public sector unions alone would have made all his years in office worthwhile. Add signing right to work into law and now going after teacher tenure and liberal universities.
Walker is a true conservative with consistent conservative positions. Trump is whatever he needs to be at the moment in time to get what he wants. Trump is probably laughing at people like you right now for buying into his clown show. I bet after the election cycle he will even admit how easy it was to con a sizable minority of conservatives. Probably when he is sipping champaign at the White House with his buddy President Hillary Clinton (who he has also called terrific and given plenty of money too).
Trump has always contributed to both sides of the political isle. Anyone in his position doing business on the scale he does contributes to both parties. To me, this is a non issue.
He donated generously to Scott Walker, but said that he was disappointed in Walker.
