Without invoking his name, Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah scolded fellow Republican Sen. Ted Cruz on Sunday for publicly accusing their party leader of lying about a deal to revive an obscure government agency, saying comity in the august chamber is both tradition and simply the honorable thing to do.....
Were not here on some frolic or to pursue personal ambitions, Mr. Hatch said, adding that he worries for the future of the institution.
He said bonds of trust are essential when lawmakers of differing parties and backgrounds come together to debate the hot topics of the day.
But we do not become enemies. We remain colleagues, and colleagues treat each other with respect, the longtime senator said.
Mr. Cruz shocked Capitol Hill on Friday when he said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell lied to him... He doubled down on his position Sunday, saying that while he agrees with Mr. Hatch on decorum, he feels lawmakers should be truthful with each other.
Mr. McConnell hasnt responded to Mr. Cruz directly. But he justified himself on the floor Sunday...
When there is overwhelming bipartisan support for an idea, even if I oppose it, it doesnt require some special deal to see a vote occur on that measure, he said. This is the United States Senate, after all, where we debate and vote on all kinds of different issues.
Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Republican, said Mr. McConnell never sought to revive the bank.
Id have to say hes mistaken, Mr. Cornyn said of Mr. Cruz. I hear no one else making such a similar accusation.
He also opposed Mr. Cruzs proposals to open up the amendment process, saying it would lead to chaos and bad policy.

So lying to your face is OK with Orrin Hatch and the New York Times...
Yep!
“It is entirely consistent with decorum and with the nature of this body traditionally as the world’s greatest deliberative body to speak the truth.” Senator Ted Cruz
I just googled memogate scandal involving Orrin Hatch...good reads....
Even if they don't deserve it?
Orin Hatch uttering the word honor is enough to send me off.
When Orin was fighting for hia political life in the last election he begged Mark Levin to give him air time, which Mark did as well as endorsing Hatch. Basically Orin promised to work against the Obama tide aided by his own senate seniority. And Mark believed the lying sack of fermented syphlitic dog crap.
Mark has expressed his regret repeatedly over the air waves.
Good List!
Now, WHOM, besides McCain, can we “Primary-out” in 2016?
Let’s focus on replacing each RINO with ONE solid conservative.
Let’s not be defeated ever again by Lindsay Graham’s strategy:
“Divide Conservatives, so they will lose!”
Thanks Mark Levin for supporting Hatch the last time he was up for reelection.
GOPe Butt-Licker!
As Cruz pointed out, in this Orwellian world it is a rebellious act to tell the truth.
Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah scolded fellow Republican Sen. Ted Cruz on Sunday for publicly telling the truth. Sen. Hatch failed to mention the lie that Cruz was referring to, and whether or not Cruz was correct. Instead he talks generalities and comity.
It appears to me that both Republicans and Democrats routinely lie and lie. Where is that taking us? When will the liars receive the justice desired by the voters?
Heck, it’s the stock-in-trade of the Slimes.
“The measure of a life is a measure of love and respect
So hard to earn, so easily burned...” (RUSH, the rock group)
Indeed. I suppose this will enter the category of “hate facts”.
Republican Senators running for election in 2016 (from my earlier list);
Murkowski, Alaska
McCain, Arizona
Coats, Indiana
Kirk, Illinois. I left him off the prior list
Blunt, Missouri
Ayotte, New Hampshire
Portman, Ohio
There are a total of 24 Republican incumbents who will be running. These 7 if replaced with non-cronies, is a good start.
I believe Shara did also. Never understood it.
“So, let me analyze this; Hatch sees much more value in being honorable than being truthful.”
To Mr.Hatch it’s probably more of a question of WHO is being “honorable” and WHO is being “truthful”. I don’t believe Hatch is being either “honorable” or “truthful”, I believe he is being partisan and that his loyalties do not lie with Conservatives or the American people but with the RNC and their masters at the US Chamber of Commerce and K Street.
Lyin, bribed, blackmailed pussies stick together.
What does a career politician like Hatch know of truth and its value?
Coats is retiring.
I was raised to believe that Texas, South Carolina, and Alabama are bastions of conservatism. And, yet the people in these states keep giving us the likes of Cronin, Graham, and Cochran, thereby perpetuating the sterotype the people from the south really are stupid. At least northerners are honest about their liberalism. Indeed, I fail to see a meaningful difference between these Rinos and Reid and Schummer.
