A 19 footer isn’t much on open ocean. If you have some power and can keep it heading into the wind, without power, it's a very little boat in rough, open water.

A 19 footer isn’t much on open ocean.I was on a 75 foot fishing boat once and in jest commented how big it was. (Been on lot bigger ones).
The skipper said, "When you get out into open ocean, it shrinks."

I’ve been in an open 22’footer in 6’ swells in the gulfstream. Unnerving to be at the bottom of the trough and see only wave crests all around.
