I always check the Greek before reading too much into the English tenses. Creating another category of unforgivable sins does not seem to be in the biblical intent here.

It is clearly about a commitment, not something that happens gradually.

There is but one unforgivable sin, the decision to delay coming to God until some future time of personal choice, and there appears to be such a choice in taking the mark.
