The far right and far left are indeed on the circle graph. The problem is that you are looking a circle and trying to define it in a linear way.
Let's do a experiment.... There are dozens of circular graphs published, so take the one you find less objectionable and cut it at the top of the circle where the far left and far right meet. You will then have your linear line graph. It's the same damn thing, but the major difference is that at the extremes the circular graph shows that the extremists may share some of the same goals. But not the same labels..
