Considered the ultimate wildcard, Donald Trump is complicating debate strategy for Republican presidential candidates now scrambling to prepare for their first face-to-face meeting on national television.
The billionaire businessman, who has dominated the 2016 Republican race in recent weeks, threatens to do the same when the top 10 GOP candidatesas determined by national pollsface off in less than two weeks. Its a high-risk, high-reward event for candidates eager to stand out yet wary to fall victim to one of Trumps notorious bombastic political attacks.
Its the No. 1 unavoidability, said former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a 2012 GOP candidate who had a knack for standing out in debates four years ago.
Do not try to match him in anger and in aggressiveness. Its not possible, Gingrich warned Trumps rivals. Hes a very instinctively aggressive guy, and if you try to dance with him on his strengths he'll run over you.

I think the debates will not be a success for Trump because he will have a very short period of time to get his point across and he’s tempermentally unable to do it. He goes off on so many tangents and random thoughts that his time will run out half way to the point he was trying to make.
I see ol’ Lindsey is rocketin’ up the polls.
I predict you'll see Cruz in the top tier after people see his debate performance.
Fist—Don’t Debate Donald! Tell America what you would do to save the nation. Answer the questions but stay above the mud! Be like Cruz. Have good answers and some good one liners to steal Trumps bomblastic words—like “If I get the nomination—I will select so and so—for VP.” Or “On day one in the White House—right after the parade—I will cancel all of Obama’s “Excutave Orders”. or “On day one I will meet with my ‘Shadow Cabinate’ before the parties—and set up a new vision for America—I will hit the ground running!” You can’t be Trump—but you can show how you are the leader America wants.
Doubled his total thanks to the Donald. Now up to 2%, which will qualify him for the kid’s table.
They're genuinely afraid of this guy.
Certainly it's because he'll call them out on their betrayals of the GOP Primary base voters.
And that will be devastating for all of them.
They need to be...EXcept for Cruz, they all agree with each other...They've all got the same plan...
Trump will do what he's already doing...Pointing out that they all failed and his plan is 180 degrees from theirs...
