Glad you like it. The adaptation isn’t up to cable standards, but the Chinese MO appears to be to go for production values over script refinement. At the same time, their budgets are somewhat more constrained* than the budget-busting $9m an episode production of Rome. And then there’s the subtitle barrier. Still, the production values aren’t bad. They’re certainly comparable or superior to the period martial arts movies of the 80’s.
* The entire 95 episode run cost $30m.
