Having worked on this issue as a grassroots lobbyist for 8 years, you are wrong about the votes issue. They want amnesty to make the issue go away just like they are happy with the SCOTUS decision on gay marriage and have no problem with Roe versus Wade.

RE: (R)epublicrats

Exactly right. This is how you deal with a prickly issue when you are a politician, especially a (R)epublicrat. It is truly in their party DNA to compromise or outright surrender issues to get them off the table. It really is in all eras right back to the beginning with reconstruction, temperance, income tax, prohibition, communism and then it increases exponentially in the 1960's until today.

The (R)epublicrats are not the so-called loyal opposition, they are and have always been the token opposition. Never has this been made clearer than this current 114th Congress, followed closely by the 112th. Recall the 104th Gingrich revolution as their first time in majority for 40+ years. At least they actively fought and were only brought down by the media and palace intrigue. But they were firmly in charge.

The amazing thing is that these successive terms: 104th, 112th, 114th had increasingly dominant majorities but decreasing fighter instinct, thus ... increasing majorities = increasing failure. It's some kind of new math they use.

These spineless, slithering, snake-in-the-grass, pathetic losers like Rove, Ryan, McCarthy, McConnell and Boner ( not nearly strong enough words when the d*mn country is at stake ) must be removed. Curiously, I haven't seen their names popping up in the Trump Derangement chorus. For some reason that worries me.
