Up to 87 percent of undocumented immigrants will be able to remain in the United States if the executive action measures on immigration taken by President Barack Obama are implemented without modifications, according to a study published by the Migration Policy Institute.
The report by the independent immigration study center said that the net effect of the new policies will be a reduction in deportations from the United States.
In all, 5.2 million immigrants would benefit from these immigration relief measures, but the MPI notes that the implementation of new guidelines for law enforcement and immigration authorities would broaden the number of people who would benefit to 9.6 million.
Obama's executive action and the new recommendations for deportations could bring the number of annual expulsions down to historic minimums.
According to the MPI, deportations would be reduced by 25,000 each year, falling under 100,000.
In 2011, a record high number of deportations were carried out, with 180,000 immigrants who had committed crimes being expelled.

So the PC-speak continues, eh?
“Undocumented migrants” now?
Or illegal aliens?
Every time I see that picture I think ‘grenade’.
CLOSE THE BORDERS. DEPORT THEM ALL. Any that can be caught. Once that starts, most will self-deport.
So.... how are these ‘undocumented migrants’ going to get back home for Quinceañeras if we don’t deport them ?
Those numbers are still low, because there are a lot more than 12 million or so illegals here. There were more than 12 million before Obama announced his “go it alone” amnesty strategy, so God only knows how many streamed across the border after that.
About ten years ago, the govt media claimed that there were 35-40 million illegals in our country. Then they magically changed the number to 11 million. And for some reason, everyone accepted that number. I would bet the number is really around 75 million or more. We will find out in November 2016.
How can an Executive Order trump the Constitution? Am I naive?
Isn’t this the same kind of statement they put out there the last time that caused a new flood of illegals thinking if they get here they will be able to stay?
