I am writing a bio of Reagan right now, and you're right. While ideologically Trump is no Reagan---he does NOT have well-defined, conservative foundations that inform every move---he is like Reagan in his ability to control the narrative. And like Reagan, he refuses to be cowed.

I will say again, if Trump actively fights for the three things we agree on out of ten policies, I don't care what he thinks about the other seven that he doesn't act on.

The Donald does have the plain-talking spirit The Ronald had in droves. As you say, he doesn’t have Reagan’s strong foundation, but he does have the same ability to crash through media barriers and get his message right to the people.
