I just had a brilliant idea. The real men should form a new party, The Conservative Politicians of the United States of America. The candidate would go on the ballot as the candidate of CPUSA and would gather huge number of votes from putative Democrats. Thank you Mr. Perot, for your insight...it really screwed things up the last time we tried it.

While Perot probably handed the election to Clinton, he also did one other thing -- he proved once and for all that a 3rd party candidate can win the presidency. Prior to dropping out, he had at least a 1 in 3 chance of winning, and in all likelihood, his chances were far higher than that. Contrary to conventional wisdom, his candidacy did not prove that a 3rd party candidate cannot win, but rather the opposite.
