He did not have the authority to order her to put out her cigarette. Without that authority, he did not have the authority to remove her from the vehicle for refusing his order. Without that authority, he did not have the authority to physically remove her or threaten her with the taser.

Wrong again! Under TX law, a cop can remove you from a car for ANY reason. The cop can also require you to put out your cigarette for ANY reason. Both are lawful orders and within the cop’s authority.

Cigarette or no cigarette he absolutely, positively had the authority to order her to step out of the vehicle.
