I think Boehner spends most of his days drinking with the lobbyists from the various business organizations and McConnell perfects the art of hiding. There is no focal point in the Republican Party in Congress, only the errand boys for the corporate interests who are much louder in their denunciations of the party’s base than of the opposition party and the crap like this they are adopting, unchallenged. McCain, for instance, never spares words in calling the Tea Party members names yet I remember a few months ago he said some garbage to Harry Reid, who had just cleaned the Senate Republicans clocks, about “can’t you just lighten up on us every now and then and play fair”? A real fighter for his or her principles would have torn into Reid’s positions and protected his own flank; McCain, Boehner and his minions in the House, and McConnell are all cut from the same cloth.
