I expect The Truth to do as well as Redford's Lions for Lambs did in 2007- It opened to negative reviews and disappointing box office receipts. It still hasn't earned back it negative cost.

Being a W-Bashing flick, the mainstream reviews may not be as negative but the paying public that generates huge box office for today's films (mostly 12-14 petulant boys who just entered puberty and love doing it over and over again) will not beat a path to its door. Much less pay to get in the door.

This is where new media and social media will play an important role (yet again) in debunking the revisionism. The story here boils down to this:

Rather’s story was based on a document typed in a font that didn’t yet exist (Times New Roman superscript) on a machine that didn’t yet exist (word processor) that showed signs of having been run through a photocopier for a couple dozen generations to make it look old.

End. Of. Story.
