"I want to tell him, look, I'm not a politician, I'm a musician, but most of all I'm Latino."

Fascinating.

Most of all, I'm a Christian. Then I'm an American.

This racial-identity above all else crap seems to be a hallmark of the "left".

This racial-identity above all else crap seems to be a hallmark of the "left".

The Old Left (i.e. Old-School Marxists) were actually opposed to any kind of national or racial identity, they dreamed of a world where one's identity as a "worker" and a "revolutionary" trumped any other collective identity.

After WWII, the Left realized that this wasn't a package they could sell, so they went from being anti-racial and anti-national to supporting extreme racialism to non-whites and extreme nationalism to the Third World.
