My own personal view on this is that all of the missing were dead when the POWs were repatriated with the possible exception of some who were held by factions in Cambodia and Laos, not PAVN units. Those undoubtedly died or were killed in the immediate years after our withdrawal. They are all dead.

The real villains, I believe, are those who turned the search for POWs into a cottage industry selling false hopes and robbing grieving families of their both sanity and wealth.

“They are all dead.”

I’m inclined to agree with you. Today. They probably were not when Sen. Bob Smith was trying so hard to get to the bottom of it. Why wasn’t McCain supportive of a fellow Republican who wanted to get to the truth? Something isn’t right here.

But, that has been the way with McCain to others in his party right along, hasn’t it? He’s never been a hero, not in his military service, not in his congressional service.

I have no proof of anything, just a gut feeling. John McCain is not the man he pretends to be. My gut has a pretty good track record.
