What Trump says now is not the point. The point is what he’s done in the past which is nothing with regards to the 2nd A.
The larger point is that the cultural milieu of NYC is far different than that of Texas.
Ted Cruz has fought hard and won at the US Supreme Court to preserve the rights of Americans to keep and bear arms. Donald Trump has not fought nor has he supported the NRA (that I know of) to fight for 2nd Amendment rights. This is not entirely the fault of Donald Trump. He’s in NYC and his businesses are in NYC. It makes no business sense or political sense to be a crusader inside NYC for the 2nd Amendment where the elites there are against any 2nd Amendment rights except for their bodyguards.
Now that Donald Trump is running for president, he will show a different side. But his background is checkered and should leave an impression that he can change on a dime. But for now he is voicing the frustration of millions upon millions of Americans.
Ted Cruz is the true conservative. He is the fully trustworthy one. He also voices well the frustrations of the American people and he is also able to inspire them.
