I've been registered in the Republican party for 40 years. That registration is now becoming a waste of intent and resources -- originally it was so I could vote in the primaries and influence the GOP that way.
It is glaringly plain now that the GOP is lost in the wilderness permanently. It is a waste of time. I hope Ted Cruz drops out of the Republican party and runs third party.
I have been a registered Democrat for 35 years, since wife and I flipped a coin to see which one would be which party. I was not terribly aware of anything political at the time. About when I started thinking about changing to Republican I noticed that Republicans were turning into Democrats and I thought why bother? Besides, the local Dem org puts on better pre election hotdog parties and I get some info first hand by listening in that I allows me to see which way some winds are truly blowing long before it becomes apparent from the media.
