I'm surprised NEP polled in Texas in 2014. In 2012 they did no polling in Texas because all the state wide elections were runaways for the GOP.
The NEP/NBC poll shows Patrick 46% - Van De Putte 52%.

Scroll down on that same page, and they ask all Texas voters if “Ted Cruz would make a good president?”
No - 50% (!)
Yes - 35%
By the way, this is not the first time Latino Decisions has tangled with the National Election Pool on Hispanic voting.
In 2004, NEP claimed that, nationally, 44% of Hispanics voted for George Bush. You will see that 44% number referred to EVERYWHERE by the GOP Amnesty crowd.
Pew and Latino Decisions challenged NEP’s math. It took 6 years, but NEP finally revised Bush's share of the national Hispanic vote to 40%.
NEP probably wanted to report the inside story of "How Wendy Davis Won Texas".
It's pretty clear the Democrat brand among the Hispanic community is weakening here in Texas. Notably, there have been several defections by State Reps.
