-- If we cannot count on the locals to "police" themselves, then who can we trust? --

That's a question everybody answers for themselves. It's the nature of things that the government touts itself as trustworthy. The criminal "justice" system holds itself out as self-correcting, only needing public input as demanded (jury duty, basically). Courts are so smug about the integrity of the process, that all of its business is conducted in the open.

Have you ever done jury duty? I know you have. If you actually hold out for the rule of law, the Constitution of the United states of America, you will be stricken so fast that you will never serve.

It’s a rigged deal. And all of its business is not conducted “out in the open”. I respect you, based on your comments. It seems that you have a background in law. “All” of the process is conducted behind closed doors. All the public gets to see is the results. The results that the courts want you to see. Sometimes they get it right. Sometimes not. But regardless it has nothing to do with Justice.
