Will the White House disappoint on H-1B displacements?
Computerworld ^ | 7/17/15 | Patrick Thibodeau

A top White House official told House lawmakers this week that the replacement of U.S. workers by H-1B visa holders is troubling and not supposed to happen. But it is hard to tell whether the administration will do anything about it. The signals are mixed.

Several federal agencies, at the request of lawmakers, are investigating complaints by IT workers at Southern California Edison, Disney Parks and Resorts and some other firms, that they had to train H-1B workers prior to their layoff.

This isn't a new development. IT workers have been training their foreign replacements for years, but something in the national landscape has changed. Offshore outsourcing is reaching deeper into the U.S. economy. Regulated utilities, which rely on U.S. rate payers for revenue, are shifting jobs to India and laying off IT workers. The offshoring of IT workers by Disney, the quintessential wholesome American icon, struck a nerve.

The use of foreign labor may also be reaching deeper into government IT, as demand for H-1B visas reaches new highs. The problems with the program are also gaining new attention, as IT workers increasingly share their stories of being forced to train their H-1B replacements.

Will Obama disappoint?

He won't disappoint the companies who financed his election

He won't disappoint the aliens

He won't disappoint Cloward, nor will he disappoint Piven

In fact, the only ones he will disappoint will be hard working Americans.

But they don't count.

Can we get a real alien to replace 0bama? He is WAY too expensive and needs to be replaced with a less expensive and more compliant furriner.

“not supposed to happen” - they expect us to believe this? Ha!

This has been happening since the Clinton Admin.
The coverup was run by California RATS that didn’t want the rest of the country know they were the ones being made rich by H1b/outsourcing.

If Obastard were to kill the H-1B visa it would be the only decent thing he did as president.

It is somewhat amusing, to see liberals so “tolerant” of “underprivileged undocumented immigrants” (while they work as their maids, gardeners, rehab remodelers in gentrified neighborhoods) UNTIL foreigners come for THEIR jobs. Then...WHOA!

“If Obastard were to kill the H-1B visa it would be the only decent thing he did as president.”

Even if he wanted to (doubtful), they have 20 times enough on him to get him to do otherwise. By “they”, I mean, members of both parties.

H-1B ping. Let me know if you're not on the list and want to be added (or are and want to be removed).

This has been happening since the Clinton Admin.

And continued under Dubya - it's bipartisan treason.

How naive.

The companies who are allowed to break the H1-B visa laws with impunity are listed on Democrats biggest donors list.

This is like the crony green energy boondoggle where Obama rewarded his donors, only this time to the detriment of the American worker.

Wrong.

This has been Obama cronyism and payback to his top donors.

Obama follows the law he agrees with, period. He makes up law he needs and ignores laws contrary to the leftist political agenda.

Exactly.

I was peripherally affected by the H-1B environment. When I was laid off some years ago there were two H-1B holders in our group whose visas were being renewed. They weren’t any better than I was, paid about the same, but they were younger.

Whatever happened to retraining programs?

At some point I might use that as a tagline, if you’ll allow me to steal it.

the I-Squared Act. That bill, which has 11 Senate co-sponsors, would increase the base H-1B cap from 65,000 to 195,000....IN OTHER WORDS STEALING AMERICAN’S BEST JOBS AND GIVING THEM AWAY TO FORIEGNERS. 195,000 EVERY YEAR!!!?

LET SEE WHAT TRUMP AND OTHERS SAY ABOUT THIS

What the heck can he do, other than to use the bully pulpit or some sort of executive action? This is totally on those traitors in Congress. Am I wrong?

Indeed it is.

Here is a history of the H-1B through 2008

Note who was Pesident in
1952 Truman

1951 Kennedy

1970 Nixon

1990 Bush I

Also note how 'guest worker' visas are tied to 'Free Trade Agreements'.
